About the Role
As a core member of the Marketing and Public Relations team, you will be responsible for all aspects of public relations, primarily media relations. You will be involved in a wide range of branding activities, including external communications, crisis management, and promotion of various initiatives such as social media.
Responsibilities
- Develop and promote media relations strategies, manage media inquiries, and oversee media events.
- Respond to media interview requests and proactively approach media for publicity.
- Plan and manage media events.
- Build and maintain relationships with editors and reporters at key media outlets.
- Handle crisis communications.
- Build relationships and propose initiatives with internal executives and relevant departments.
- Utilize external resources such as PR agencies and vendors.
- Create press releases and executive comments.
- Coordinate with internal departments and global teams.
- Review external communication materials.
- Plan and promote branding initiatives, including public relations activities for the Japan office and focus business areas (advertising, social media, promotions).
- Collaborate with global teams on public relations and marketing activities.
Requirements
- Over 4 years of corporate public relations experience or client work experience at a PR firm.
- Extensive experience building a network in media relations (newspapers, magazines, TV, etc.) for business use.
- Experience in creating and editing external communication documents such as press releases.
- Native-level Japanese language proficiency.
- Business-level English proficiency (TOEIC score of 750 or equivalent).
- Experience in crisis management public relations.
- Experience utilizing PR agencies.
- Experience using generative AI and various digital tools in business.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, creating reports from analysis, and management reporting.
- High motivation and ability to build good relationships with the media.
- Ability to communicate smoothly with team members, internal departments, and global teams.
- Strong ownership and leadership to drive tasks.
- Flexibility to learn and adapt without being bound by past experiences or methods.
- Ability to make flexible judgments and develop the team and work with a positive attitude and ideas.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of contribution to the organization.
- Ability to manage, analyze, and share information using various digital tools.
