About the Role
We are seeking a mid-level Salesforce Engineer to design, build, and deploy custom solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on a greenfield project with a modern codebase, influencing architectural decisions and best practices. You will be hands-on, writing code daily and owning features from conception to release, with a focus on Lightning Web Components and API integrations. Collaboration with fellow engineers and business stakeholders is key, within a regulated environment that emphasizes change control, auditability, and data security.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain custom Lightning Web Components, focusing on reusability, performance, and accessibility.
- Own integrations between Salesforce and internal/external systems, including REST callouts, named credentials, authentication, and error handling.
- Write clean, well-tested Apex code, including services, triggers, and asynchronous processing, adhering to governor limits.
- Build and maintain Flow automation (record-triggered and screen flows), making informed decisions on logic placement between Flow and Apex.
- Model data and configure the Salesforce platform, including custom objects, fields, metadata-driven configuration, and platform events.
- Participate in code reviews, testing standards, and design discussions to maintain code quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into functional software.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building on the Salesforce platform, with ownership of features through production.
- Strong proficiency in Lightning Web Components, including lifecycle hooks, reactive properties, wire adapters, events, component composition, and Jest tests.
- Strong integration skills, including REST/SOAP callouts, named credentials, authentication, data mapping, and failure case handling.
- Solid design and implementation abilities, with experience owning projects end-to-end and shaping a growing Salesforce org.
- Proficiency in Apex, including SOQL, governor limits, asynchronous patterns, and unit testing.
- Comfort with modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Practical experience with Flow automation (record-triggered and screen flows) and understanding of the Flow/Apex boundary.
- Experience with Git and pull-request workflows, and source-driven deployment via SFDX/Salesforce CLI.
- Clear communication skills and confidence in working with non-technical colleagues.
- Experience in a regulated environment (financial services, healthcare, or similar) is useful.
- CI/CD experience and familiarity with second-generation packaging (2GP) or scratch orgs is useful.
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II, JavaScript Developer I) are useful.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
