About the Role
Hyperlayer is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Head of Marketing to build and lead its marketing function, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. This role is crucial for scaling client bases across the UK, US, and Asia-Pacific, focusing on an account-based go-to-market model.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the central "kits" model for campaign and content packages.
- Ensure all marketing activities are tagged to a vertical pod and named account before launch.
- Collaborate with regional and vertical sales leads to align marketing activities with account plans.
- Build and manage the analyst relations program, securing validation of client-facing claims.
- Set direction for SEO and LLM-discoverability as an emerging channel.
- Work with the Comms team on PR strategy and timing.
- Translate platform solution areas into positioning, messaging, and sales content.
- Curate a selective events calendar, gating attendance and including a flagship content moment.
- Manage the events budget with explicit trade-offs.
- Build the marketing function, prioritizing Vertical Growth Marketing and Product Marketing hires.
- Hire individuals who are hands-on producers of work.
- Own the marketing budget and report spend against pipeline created and named-account penetration.
- Establish a clear sign-off process with Legal for public references to clients.
- Ensure marketing and product-marketing content complies with data privacy and financial promotion requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years leading B2B marketing in enterprise, complex-sales environments with long sales cycles (12+ months), ideally in fintech, payments, or another regulated B2B category.
- Recent operating experience at a B2B fintech or banking-technology vendor selling platform or infrastructure software to Tier 1 and Tier 2 financial institutions, at roughly Series A to Series C scale, with a marketing team of fewer than five people where you were a producer.
- Writing as a core, current skill; will be asked for a piece of external-facing writing produced in the last 12 months.
- Proven track record running account-based marketing as the primary go-to-market model.
- Direct experience building a marketing function from near-zero headcount at a scale-up, including hiring the initial team.
- Hands-on analyst relations experience, including niche technology analyst firms.
- Comfort operating as an enabler of sales-owned pipeline targets.
- Experience translating technical or platform products into market-facing positioning across multiple solution areas.
- Track record of budget discipline and ROI-based prioritization.
- Working knowledge of SEO and LLM-discoverability as an emerging marketing channel (preferred).
- Familiarity with client reference and case-study governance processes in regulated industries (preferred).
- Ability to use AI to help make processes more efficient (preferred).
- Existing non-sponsored right to work in the UK.
