About the Role

As Head of Finance (m/f/d), you will play a central role in steering the company's financial performance and supporting its strategic growth. You will be responsible for the Finance function in the areas of financial reporting, governance, liquidity, compliance, and strategic financial planning. You will provide senior management with sound financial decision-making bases and support key commercial, financing, and investment decisions. Furthermore, you will lead and develop the Finance team and act as a key point of contact for internal departments and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Development and implementation of financial strategies in line with long-term company goals.
Strategic financial advice and support to the Managing Director Finance and Executive Management.
Responsibility for the preparation of accurate and timely annual and financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory reports in accordance with applicable German accounting and tax requirements, including HGB, and, if applicable, relevant international standards (IFRS).
Ensuring compliance with applicable German financial, tax, supervisory, and corporate law requirements, as well as corporate governance requirements.
Preparation and management of financial reporting for shareholders and debt providers, and support for supervisory board, shareholder, and debtholder meetings.
Coordination of cooperation with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other external stakeholders.
Ensuring effective internal control systems, governance structures, and risk management processes in cooperation with Controlling.
Management of liquidity, cash flow planning, working capital, banking relationships, and treasury activities with the aim of optimizing the company's financial performance.
Support for financing activities, communication with shareholders, financial due diligence processes, and strategic corporate initiatives.
Support for the Commercial Team on financial and compliance-related issues, including customer KYC requests and commercial matters requiring financial expertise.
Responsibility for HR and payroll-related financial processes in cooperation with HR and, if applicable, external service providers.
Support for the preparation of supervisory board documents, presentations, and management documents in cooperation with Controlling.
Leadership and management of the Finance team's operational day-to-day business, including performance management, mentoring, and team development.
Introduction and further development of new financial reporting tools and systems, as well as accompanying corresponding changes and implementations.
Central interface function between internal departments and external consultants, auditors, financial institutions, and authorities.

Requirements

10+ years of professional experience in Accounting, Controlling, or Finance, including 3-5 years in a senior financial or leadership position.
Completed studies in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; further qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or a comparable degree are advantageous.
Sound knowledge of German and international accounting regulations, including HGB and IFRS.
Proven experience in managing financial activities and teams, ideally in the energy sector or a related field.
Strong skills in financial modeling, analysis, and presentation, as well as the ability to translate financial information into clear and meaningful business insights.
Excellent communication, social, and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with management, consultants, auditors, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders.
Experience with external audits, outsourced accounting service providers, international financial management, or cross-border compliance issues is advantageous.
A good understanding of the commercial dynamics of the energy sector and infrastructure investments is a plus.
Fluent German and good English language skills.
