About the Role

This position is part of the Marie-Curie Doctoral Network (EU MSCA project Mobile and Optical Networks for 6G (MONET-6G)). You will investigate next-generation fiber-wireless architectures for indoor settings, such as Fiber-to-the-Room (FttR) for Wi-Fi and LiFi.

Responsibilities

Identify promising in-building use cases (communication, positioning, sensing) for industrial, medical, home, and enterprise scenarios.
Compare point-to-point (P2P) and point-to-multipoint (P2MP) fiber architectures for Wi-Fi and LiFi.
Evaluate integrated fiber-wireless solutions across various deployment scenarios.
Evolve existing in-building fiber and wireless technologies to achieve adequate performance at a reasonable cost.
Set up a simulation framework based on experimentally validated models.
Conduct systematic performance evaluations to identify a best-practice approach.
Demonstrate key features of the proposed architecture in a laboratory setup.
