About the Role
This role focuses on the development of SoC bus/interconnects for automotive SoCs (R-Car series), a critical area for vehicle value. The position involves specification, architecture, RTL design, verification, and performance evaluation, requiring collaboration with internal teams and external IP vendors. The ideal candidate will deepen their expertise and lead development for their assigned area or the entire subsystem.
Responsibilities
- Engage in the practical development of SoC bus/interconnects for automotive SoCs (R-Car series).
- Handle specifications, architecture, RTL design, verification, debugging, and performance evaluation for on-chip buses like AXI and NoC.
- Organize connection requirements for IPs such as CPUs, memory, AI/image processing, high-speed interfaces, and peripherals, designing with considerations for bandwidth, latency, QoS, deadlock avoidance, and error handling.
- Analyze bottlenecks using traffic models and performance evaluation results, driving design improvements towards overall SoC performance goals.
- Formulate design policies for assigned areas, conduct design reviews, and lead consensus building with stakeholders on technical challenges (based on experience).
- Manage the introduction of external interconnect IPs, including specification confirmation with IP vendors, configuration planning, constraint organization, integration, and technical issue resolution.
- Collaborate with design sites in Japan, India, and Vietnam in English, playing a role within a global development structure.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of practical experience in digital circuit design or verification for SoC or IP development (including RTL design, verification, debugging, specification study, and design review response).
- Design or verification experience related to buses, interconnects, NoC, or data transfer circuits.
- Experience in translating requirements into circuit specifications and verification items by understanding design specifications and technical documents.
- Experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues through technical discussions.
- Experience in organizing design policies and technical challenges within the assigned area and achieving consensus with stakeholders.
- Comfortable reading and writing technical documents in English and communicating with global teams.
