About the Role

As an Electrical Designer at Glumac, a Tetra Tech Company, you will play a vital role in supporting our electrical discipline and ensuring the success of diverse and innovative projects. You will transform ideas into innovative, reliable, and constructible electrical solutions, solve complex technical challenges, leverage advanced design and BIM technologies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Design and plan electrical power systems for commercial, advanced technology, mission critical, education, government, healthcare, science & technology projects.
Design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection.
Perform calculations of lighting systems and associated controls.
Work with external team members, including architects, outside consultants, code officials, and contractors.
Work with internal team members of other disciplines to provide a coordinated and thought-out design.
Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and equipment selection.
Assist with electrical code research for project-specific issues.
Support construction administration tasks, including responses to RFIs and equipment submittals.
Interface with code officials and contractors as needed.
Work closely with project teams to support assigned efforts from concept through construction.

Requirements

4+ years of experience as an MEP Designer in the building construction industry.
Proficiency in REVIT.
Must be located within a commutable distance of the Austin, TX office.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
