About the Role
This role offers an incredible opportunity for an experienced product manager to own hard problems end to end, possess technical fluency to influence engineering and API decisions, and actively de-risk ideas. You will lead with customer problems and commercial outcomes, manage your portfolio from strategy to launch, and be accountable for results, not just backlog volume. The position is ideal for those aiming to build deep technical product expertise in Australian payments.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision and lifecycle for your portfolio, sizing opportunities and prioritizing based on customer value, business impact, feasibility, and strategic fit.
- Partner with Engineering on scalable, secure product and API design, and own the developer-facing aspects of products, including semantics, error behavior, webhooks, and documentation.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to de-risk ideas, and utilize AI tooling for discovery, research, spec drafting, and rapid prototyping.
- Manage product launches with Go-To-Market, Solutions, Engineering, Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams, and track adoption and performance across the customer lifecycle.
- Understand portfolio unit economics, build evidence-based business cases, and collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal on regulatory requirements.
- Develop strong cross-functional partnerships and present strategy to senior leadership and the board.
Requirements
- Material experience in product or technical product management, owning products end to end and measured on impact.
- A track record of real product discovery – sizing opportunities realistically and identifying important problems.
- Strong product and commercial judgment, using data and insight to make clear trade-offs.
- Cross-functional leadership from discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration.
- Demonstrable technical fluency – reading code, reasoning about system design, and working confidently with REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes or proof-of-concepts.
- Strong understanding of payment integration patterns – APIs, SDKs, webhooks, hosted payment experiences, and platform-based integrations.
- Fluency with modern AI tooling as part of your working practice.
