About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Professional Structural Engineer to join our Buildings & Places Structures team in Sydney. You will collaborate with experienced engineers on diverse building projects, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable structural solutions while developing your technical capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the structural design and delivery of projects across a range of market sectors.
- Prepare structural analysis, calculations, design reports, specifications, and engineering documentation under senior guidance.
- Assist in delivering designs that comply with relevant Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA), and client requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, efficient, and sustainable design solutions.
- Support successful project delivery by contributing to milestones, quality outcomes, and client satisfaction.
- Continue to develop technical capability while working alongside experienced engineers on complex projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Approximately 2–5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably with building structures exposure.
- Experience contributing to structural design projects in a consulting environment.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT, Structural Toolkit).
- Experience with SAP2000, RAM, IdeaStatiCa, or Grasshopper is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
- Australian Citizenship is highly preferred due to project nature.
- Must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
