About the Role
The Teammate Driving (POV BEV) team develops lane-keeping functions and map information services for autonomous driving systems. The Test Engineer's mission is to set, evaluate, and provide feedback on the functional, performance, and quality standards of software implemented based on system requirements, thereby improving product performance and quality. These products are implemented in Toyota's next-generation driver assistance systems, "Toyota Safety Sense" and "Teammate," to provide safer driving and more comfortable mobility to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage evaluation plans according to project progress.
- Create test scenarios that meet system requirements.
- Conduct on-vehicle testing and identify the causes of detected issues.
- Promote issue management and resolution in agile development.
Requirements
- Experience in vehicle evaluation operations.
- Ability to verify that software requirements are met from a user's perspective.
- Ability to manage software using Git.
- Knowledge of AD (Autonomous Driving) / ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) and understanding of the interactions between these technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, hypothesis-testing, and task management skills.
- Documentation skills.
- Ability to organize and structure diverse information into a coherent plan.
- Ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations (e.g., Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or equivalent level).
