About the Role
KBR is seeking engineers from pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, and other highly regulated industries to transition into nuclear facility and infrastructure design. Many skills from Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments are transferable, including contamination control, cleanroom management, ventilation systems, risk-based engineering, and quality management. This is an opportunity to apply existing expertise in a new, growing sector contributing to nationally significant programs.
Responsibilities
- Designing cleanrooms, containment facilities, sterile manufacturing environments, and high-purity facilities.
- Applying established engineering instincts in a different context with support from experienced nuclear specialists.
- Developing an understanding of nuclear safety principles, regulatory frameworks, and operational requirements.
- Working alongside multidisciplinary teams delivering complex, nationally significant infrastructure.
Requirements
- Experience designing or delivering facilities within highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with structured risk-review methodologies such as HAZOP, QRM or equivalent.
- A strong appreciation for quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Experience operating within controlled-document and audited environments.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
- Ability to obtain relevant security clearances.
