About the Role

The Senior Production Technician IC&E is responsible for the detailed training of Technicians of lower grade, performing maintenance on gas and steam turbine generating units and steam generators. This role involves the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant calibration of complex auxiliary equipment associated with boilers, turbines, generators, water treatment facilities, and power distribution. The position requires investigating, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and controls, performing operational tests and inspections, and executing safe Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and specialized work in the repair and maintenance of GE MKVI, DCS communication systems, PLC Logic, Rosemount instruments, CEMS, computers, annunciator systems, and boiler chemistry monitoring equipment.
• Perform Thermography and NERC Battery inspections and maintenance.
• Actively participate in job briefs and safety discussions, focusing on hazard identification and elimination.
• Perform work in accordance with company policies, practices, standards, and rules.
• Maintain safe working conditions, use proper tools, equipment, and protective clothing & devices.
• Keep work areas clean and maintain assigned housekeeping areas.
• Collaborate with energy production and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment problems.
• Seek ways to improve productivity and equipment reliability.
• Investigate abnormal operating conditions, equipment failures, design issues, and operating/maintenance problems.
• Review, update, and revise drawings and procedures as needed.
• Assist with technical and safety training of others.
• Assist or perform analytical work related to equipment testing, chemical analyses, and engineering studies.
• Work fair share of overtime, including potential weekend or night shift coverage.
• Perform similar or less skilled tasks and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Associates degree from Accredited or Technical College.
• 5+ years Power Generation experience preferred.
• Knowledge and skill in installation, inspection, repair, adjustment, calibration, and servicing of instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment.
• Strong math skills and understanding of fundamental chemistry principles.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from simple prints, sketches, and specifications.
• Analytical skills and ability to develop solutions to problems.
• Must have completed a course in electricity including magnetism and AC/DC theory, advanced chemistry, engineering principles of mechanics, control print reading, or maintenance and repair of electronic micro processing.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Comfortable operating a vehicle as part of job responsibilities.
• Meet applicable company and insurance requirements.
• Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
• Will not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

About the Company

• The Bethlehem Energy Center is a state-of-the-art, combined-cycle power plant fueled primarily by natural gas.
• The plant has a 3 x 3 x 1 combined-cycle configuration: three GE 7FA combustion turbine-generators (CTGs) exhausting at 1,140F to three Nooter/Eriksen heat-recovery steam generators (HRSGs) whose outputs are combined to feed one GE D11 steam turbine-generator.
