About the Role

The Category Development Manager (CDM) develops and delivers category and shopper strategies for key customers, using data and insights to drive category growth and support our Off Premise Commercial Strategy. Working closely with Sales and Trade Marketing, the CDM creates innovative customer solutions, provides actionable shopper insights, and builds strong relationships with key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with key customers, driving category strategy, and delivering specialised category projects.
  • Ensure strong category ranging and assortment recommendation aligned to range review cycles working to ensure Category and Brand Fair Share are achieved.
  • Commercialise category initiatives and partner with the National Sales team to drive opportunities, maximise sales effectiveness, and increase ROI.
  • Lead annual Category Planning Days and end of year Category Reviews.
  • Create customised retailer specific selling stories creating and leveraging all available selling materials.
  • Set the product and ranging priorities throughout the store.
  • Develop pricing and promotional strategies across the Red Bull portfolio to maintain a premium position and drive value growth.
  • Drive the Space Management agenda with key customers working to minimise out of stocks and maximise our fair share index at shelf.
  • Ensure merchandising principles are executed accurately and compliantly across all key customers.
  • Provide quarterly measurement and evaluation of all major customer/channel initiatives and promotions.
  • Analyse internal and external data (Circana, Summit, Quantium) to identfy market, shopper and consumer trends, and recommend growth opportunities.
  • Leverage shopper and consumer insights to inform our Off Premise Sales strategy and Category Vision.
  • Use data and insights to identify retailer growth opportunities and support shopper research initiatives.
  • Work with Trade Marketing to develop shopper-focused retail concepts that drive growth and outperform competitors.
  • Deliver engaging category presentations and workshops across internal meetings and conferences.
  • Facilitate category training across Sales and Distributor Partner teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Category Management.
  • Experience in Trade Marketing, Shopper Insight, Brand Management and Account Management (desirable).
  • Experience with Circana/AC Nielsen/Quantium/Synergy/Summit.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to conclude data.
  • Proficiency in space planning software, including JDA or Apollo, is desirable.
  • You have read and understand the Privacy Statement and the Red Bull Australia Privacy Policy.
  • You are qualified to work in Australia and understand that Red Bull Australia may require you to provide evidence of this to comply with its obligations under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
