About the Role

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, seeks a Collections Specialist to join their Revenue Management Team in New York. This hybrid role involves managing collection activities, resolving payment issues, and liaising between attorneys, clients, and staff to ensure timely receivables collection while maintaining strong relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily collection activities, including inventory review and consultation with Billing Attorneys to address aged receivable issues and determine collection strategies.
  • Meet with Billing Attorneys monthly to review aged investment balances and provide status updates to local and firm management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to ensure collection efforts align with firm goals.
  • Attend monthly collection team calls to review outstanding balances, collection progress, payment issues, and follow-up items.
  • Prepare collection and A/R related reports for discussion with Billing Attorneys.
  • Oversee account reconciliation, prioritizing high-risk accounts.
  • Evaluate and recommend best practices for collection efforts.
  • Contact clients regarding payments and assess the collectability of outstanding balances.
  • Review and analyze short payments, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Communicate A/R information effectively to office and firm management.
  • Attend onsite training and conduct business travel as needed.
  • Be flexible to work overtime as needed.

  • Understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and responsible use in a professional environment.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, firm-approved AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms) to support daily workflow and/or improve work quality.
  • Occasional requirement to move from workstation or desk throughout the work area.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use a phone, enter data into a computer, handle objects, and use office equipment.

Experience Level

Salary/Compensations

  • $48.45 to $52.50 per hour
