About the Role
The Technician IV performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds, ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines, and reliability goals are met. This role involves significant judgment and mentoring of other technicians, providing the highest level of expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair, and playing a key role in leadership, development, and training.
Responsibilities
- Performs standard vehicle maintenance
- Performs preventive maintenance
- Performs complex repairs with minimal support
- Accesses and uses internal and external maintenance documents
- Diagnoses and repairs complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support, utilizing diagnostic computers/software
- Performs remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution for roadside breakdowns
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
- Instructs and advises other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics
- Coaches/Mentors other level technicians
- Advises shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines
- Performs other support duties as required to support operations
- PM trained and qualified within 90 days
- Tire & Wheel safety trained within 90 days
Requirements
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- All other certification as required by location

Salary/Compensations
- $41/per hour
- $1 shift premium for afternoons
