About the Role
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will combine technical expertise with leadership to manage major projects and guide a team of engineers. You will contribute to product strategy, develop your team, and optimize engineering processes. Teams work across various domains including information retrieval, AI, NLP, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, and UI design. You will manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, oversee a large product budget, and deploy large-scale projects internationally.
Responsibilities
- Partner with PM/UX/PgM/Data scientists to define and execute on our contributor reach strategy.
- Iterate and improve on user experience by applying a rigorous data-driven approach.
- Lead overall technical strategy of the UGC notification engine.
- Scale infra to support new use cases, and integrate latest AI/ML capabilities to improve the user targeting system.
- Elevate our engineering culture and quality standards.
- Lead AI transformation within the team not just on what we build, but how we work, in order to increase team productivity whilst maintaining a high engineering quality bar in the age of AI.
- Lead and mentor an engineering team to deliver on the technical roadmap while fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment that supports career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Java).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
