About the Role
The Tenant Services Coordinator oversees the operation of the Tenant Services Office, which provides safe, secure, and well-managed permanent housing. This role contributes to ending homelessness by fostering community and tenant interaction with building staff through direct client contact, social services interaction, and collaboration with external organizations. The position involves coordinating program planning, organizing tenant activities and workshops, and providing community outreach.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Tenant Services calendar of events for assigned building sites (maximum of 2).
- Oversee development and implementation of a wide range of programs and activities for residents.
- Recruit and manage tenant and external volunteer opportunities.
- Perform administrative tasks including monthly building newsletter production and monthly reports.
- Manage program budget.
- Coordinate with Building Management, partner agencies, other Breaking Ground programs, and outside agencies.
- Liaise with tenants to address needs and concerns.
- Accompany tenants on off-site excursions or events arranged by Breaking Ground.
- Serve as tenant contact for questions and concerns, redirecting tenants to appropriate staff, and informing social service and building management of tenant involvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two years of satisfactory full-time work experience in Human Services or related field, or equivalent education and/or related work experience.
- Excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and shift easily between tasks.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including persons with chronic mental illness.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows, particularly Word, Excel, Publisher, and Access.
