About the Role
Little Lukes is seeking Assistant Teachers to support daycare classrooms, working alongside Certified Lead Teachers and Special Education Teachers to foster the development and education of preschool children aged 3-5. The role focuses on creating a positive, engaging learning environment and preparing children for kindergarten through various instructional methods.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care and instruction to preschool children.
- Support the development and education of children aged 3-5 within inclusive classrooms.
- Assist in teaching developmentally appropriate academic and social skills.
- Prepare children for kindergarten through language-based, whole group, small group, and one-on-one interactions.
- Help create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment.
- Implement effective classroom management.
- Help set and reinforce classroom expectations and routines.
Requirements
- A passion for offering the best care and education for local children and their families.
- Expertise in delivering care for the educational, developmental, and social emotional growth of children.
- A warm, engaging approach with a family-centered focus.
- The drive to work hard, adapt to change, and evolve in Early Childhood care.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to share feedback across teams in a collaborative and solution-oriented way.
- An active NYS Teacher Assistant certification is preferred but not required; the company will pay for certification.
