About the Role
The Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for preventing financial loss due to theft and fraud, and supporting safety and environmental program compliance within their assigned region. They utilize various tools to minimize loss, including identifying theft and fraud incidents, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring physical security, and auditing to drive a shrink elimination culture.
Responsibilities
- Detect and assist with the apprehension of individuals committing theft and fraud against client stores.
- Complete the prosecution process, including reporting to police, writing case reports, and testifying in court.
- Report alert signals indicating possible internal dishonesty to the appropriate Asset Protection team members.
- Investigate, identify, and report issues regarding external theft and shrink affecting client stores to the AP team and ORC Investigator.
- Develop partnerships with Loss Prevention members, store management, and outside agencies like the Police and Mall Security.
- Disseminate appropriate intelligence to the AP team and ORC Investigator.
- Maintain accurate report records and case building documentation.
- Support the ORC investigator and AP team with store blitzes and surveillance.
- Review and archive CCTV surveillance footage.
- Input and document theft incidents into company case management systems.
- Complete monthly and quarterly reports for the AP team.
- Maintain KPI log.
- Ensure professional appearance and adherence to assignment requirements.
- Follow all local, provincial, and federal laws while providing investigation services.
Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
- Excellent Customer service skills.
- Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
- Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations for security positions, including additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting, and/or drug and alcohol testing.

- Two years of loss prevention/security training required
