About the Role

The Operations Manager will oversee all operational services, including Imports/Exports via Air/Ocean, warehousing, and customs brokerage. This role supports branch operational excellence and drives operational, financial, and compliance objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure branch compliance with JAS process, procedures, and governmental standards.
  • Meet company and customer established KPIs.
  • Manage operational distribution and workloads to meet client and contractual needs.
  • Maintain awareness of key import and export lanes and operations processes/requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, warehousing, and sales support teams to achieve target budget.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with customers and Carriers.
  • Manage branch workflow initiative adherence using PowerBI dashboard to enhance staff productivity.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Promote, enable, facilitate, and oversee training for branch personnel.
  • Identify and relay personnel issues to the Branch Manager.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to staff.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Freight Forwarding operations experience, handling air/ocean product, warehousing, and customs brokerage.
  • 5+ years of prior supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Highly motivated leader adept at working in a competitive, challenging, and fast-paced work environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in language (written and speaking).
  • Firm working knowledge/experience handling air/ocean imports and exports.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony without written approval from the Assistant Commissioner.
