About the Role

Chime's Growth Engineering team builds product experiences that drive business metrics and help millions achieve financial progress. As a full stack Growth Engineer, you will work across the stack (React/TypeScript front-end, Rails/Go services) to build features that drive member growth. You will collaborate with product, design, data science, marketing, and analytics to experiment rapidly, drive measurable outcomes, and scale impactful solutions. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-moving environments, want to define new products or experiments, and are passionate about accelerating Chime's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship growth-focused consumer features end to end, including React and TypeScript interfaces, backend services and APIs, and A/B experiments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mobile, product, design, data science, and marketing teams to identify member pain points and opportunities.
  • Rapidly prototype and launch A/B tests, iterating on ideas that improve activation, conversion, and engagement.
  • Analyze feature performance post-launch to inform future iterations and growth strategies.
  • Apply a metrics-driven mindset to decision-making and prioritize efforts based on member and business impact.
  • Improve reliability, scalability, and performance across the stack, from client-side page load and funnel conversion to service latency and throughput.
  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence through mentorship, code reviews, and driving best practices.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience building scalable software in production environments.
  • Proven experience with both a modern front-end framework (React or comparable) and a server-side framework (Ruby on Rails, Go, or comparable).
  • Experience designing APIs and working with transactional databases and caching, plus client-side state, performance, and component-driven UI.
  • Comfort owning a feature across the full stack, with eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • A product mindset with a strong bias toward experimentation, iteration, and measuring impact.
  • Exposure to large-scale architecture patterns and an appreciation for clean, maintainable code.
