About the Role
Self is seeking a Staff Analyst to join the Product and Customer Analytics team, focusing on driving sustainable growth throughout the customer lifecycle. This role involves a deep understanding of business functions, data requirements, and applying analytical rigor to company-wide visible metrics and analytical systems for the Credit Builder Account, Credit Card portfolio, and Customer lifecycle. The position offers high autonomy within an AI Native team, with expectations for semantic layer build-outs and enabling high-velocity, high-trust decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead analytical projects and experiments to identify drivers of customer and product behavior, segmentation, and engagement.
- Contribute to data models for the Credit Builder Account and Credit Card portfolio in partnership with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to define measurement strategies, set goals, and influence the business roadmap.
- Build and manage agentic AI, domain context layers, and semantic workflows (dbt Metric Flow, Semantic Layer) for efficiency and automation.
- Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reporting for key lifecycle marketing KPIs, customer cohorts, and campaign performance.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques such as statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and causal inference to uncover insights and forecast initiative impact.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Stay abreast of industry trends in financial products, AI, analytics, analytics engineering, and business intelligence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related).
- 8+ years of experience in a data analytics role, supporting product teams, preferably in fintech or a related consumer-facing industry.
- Proven expertise in SQL with cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Experience building dashboards and reports using BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Experience with analytics engineering ELT tools (dbt, Databricks, Airflow, Git).
- Experience with AI (Claude, Codex), including building skills, agents, and context harnesses.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python, R).
- Experience with A/B testing and causal inference, including Bayesian and Frequentist approaches and quasi-experimental methods.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate business questions into actionable insights and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
