About the Role

Responsible for all phases of sales efforts and branch operations, working closely with the Market Leader on branch strategy and implementation. Utilizes branch partners in developing and maintaining all lines of business, including retail, commercial, and Pioneer Wealth Management client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve established sales goals, including core deposit growth, through retention and development of existing client relationships by actively promoting and referring Pioneer Bank and Pioneer Wealth Management products and services.
  • Utilize partnerships with Business Banking Officer and Market Leader in soliciting commercial business outside the branch office and cultivating retail business.
  • Participate in appropriate community activities and organizations to enhance sales efforts and bank visibility.
  • Collaborate with Pioneer Wealth Management Team to develop and coach branch staff.
  • Enhance foundational knowledge of products/services with the ability to recognize opportunities to develop and refer both retail and commercial relationships.
  • Develop and execute coaching strategy within the branch team in conjunction with the Market Leader.
  • Build competencies and confidence of branch staff to achieve team goals assigned by Retail Management.
  • Consistently execute coaching strategy.
  • Uphold established customer service standards and expectations.
  • Lead by example and hold branch team accountable to customer service standards.
  • Oversee all branch functions to ensure adherence to policies and procedures daily.
  • Handle scheduling, counseling, supervising, evaluating, and disciplining all branch personnel in conjunction with the Market Leader.
  • Mentor, empower, and develop all members of the management team.
  • Provide continuous coaching and evaluation of staff sales efforts and monitor results to meet or exceed performance results defined in Branch Incentive Program.
  • Monitor staff compliance with all Bank policies and procedures within the branch through training and counseling.
  • Coach team around security and compliance for the proper implementation and maintenance of security controls.
  • Advise Retail Management on market and community trends and/or other situations warranting bank management involvement.
  • Maintain control over and make recommendations regarding the physical environment based on customer service, and employee and customer safety and security.
  • Address any injuries or illnesses promptly, alerting appropriate Bank management staff depending on whether the incident involves a customer or employee.
  • Complete timely documentation of incidents.
  • Ensure department practices comply with Federal and State laws and corporate human resource policies.
  • Interview, select, and train staff in accordance with the Bank’s EEO/AA commitment.
  • Evaluate performance and make recommendations for advancement and merit increases.
  • Motivate and counsel assigned staff to increase professionalism, exceed customer service expectations, and encourage professional development.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of human resource policies and programs.

  • Develop subordinates and others in the bank, when requested, for succession planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years retail sales management experience, including responsibility for direct supervision of staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate sales skills and capacity to motivate branch staff to cross sell financial services.
  • Experience in coaching, leading, mentoring staff required.
  • Previous sales experience required.
  • Proven ability to comply with policies and procedures to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines.
  • Attainment of Notary Public certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months of acceptance of position.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel, E-mail, internet software, and capacity to learn retail banking computer system is essential.
  • Access to reliable transportation in order to travel on short notice plus valid driver's license and ability to maintain this throughout employment.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible daily schedule including evenings and Saturdays.
