About the Role

The Head of Strategic Accounts EMEA will lead a group focusing on significant accounts, primarily large Asset Managers developing and running passively managed products like ETFs and Index Funds. This role involves collaborating with various teams to grow the existing book of business by understanding client needs at multiple levels, accelerating revenue growth for the FTSE Russell Asset-based Index and Data & Subscription businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the FTSE Russell Asset-based Index business and Data & Subscription side to accelerate revenue growth.
  • Partner with clients to launch new investment and derivative products linked to FTSE Russell indices.
  • Deliver strategic Index solutions and collaborate with clients to design innovative new indices.
  • Foster regular conversations to create new ideas.
  • Partner with clients in Asset-gathering campaigns to grow Index AUM and trading volume in Index derivatives.
  • Develop the Index ecosystem and position FTSE Russell as a strategic solutions partner.
  • Drive Index adoption within the ETF Providers’ community and the development of Index solutions in the Asset Management space.
  • Develop and lead the Buy-Side regional strategy for asset-based index solutions.
  • Engage with FTSE Russell’s Buy-Side clients in the region and collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Research, and Marketing.
  • Encourage product adoption and education, as well as AUM growth for passive index investment products.
  • Work closely with senior clients providing consultative solutions and focused relationships.
  • Manage all aspects of business development, strategy formulation, team leadership, client engagement, and relationship management.
  • Ensure internal coordination across the regional team and collaboration with other regions for global consistency.
  • Lead client relationships, strategy, and business development with top clients.
  • Lead a team of individuals covering asset managers, guiding, coaching, and developing them.
  • Set strategic priorities for Buy-side coverage in alignment with business objectives.
  • Set team objectives and KPIs, training requirements, development plans, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and lead the execution of strategic growth plans to increase FTSE Russell index adoption and market penetration.
  • Help define an ETF strategy for new index launches and support current client ETF growth.
  • Collaborate with product, research, and marketing to deliver campaigns and expand brand recognition.
  • Bring awareness of client requirements back to the business to shape go-to-market plans.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders on new product development.
  • Ensure market intelligence, competitor analysis, and market trends are gathered and monitored.
  • Ensure regional strategy aligns with broader global strategy.
  • Manage contract renewals on the data side to meet annual targets.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable team leading and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and experience in financial markets, particularly in ETFs and Funds within Asset Managers.
  • 15+ years of experience in Financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of Indexing and indexed financial products.
  • Proven ability to work with clients and influence at a senior level.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to lead and drive execution.
  • Client-centric with strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to manage consultative engagements to solve client problems and drive benchmark adoption.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communications skills.
