About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers and scientists to invent and test novel subsystems for electrochemical processing of Wafers and Panels in semiconductor equipment.
- Ensure the team combines literature review, engineering design, and experimental testing in an iterative loop.
- Identify future requirements and develop technology to meet market needs.
- Ensure best practices in experimental methods.
- Drive the use of appropriate computer modeling (COMSOL, Matlab, CFD, FEA) to guide design work and analyze process performance and cost of ownership.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and controls engineers to enable effective collaboration with process and software engineers on new product development.
- Lead the development of hardware, automation, fluid, and process sub-systems in automated semiconductor wet process tools, specifying system testing procedures from prototype through reliability analysis.
- Drive early-stage development of new process sub-systems through C&F testing.
- Serve as a role model for other engineers in teamwork and innovation.
- Coordinate the development of process requirements as expressed in PIDs and software specifications, reviewing and revising with the software team.
- Work with patent counsel to draft and implement IP filings.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Physics.
- 10 or more years of experience in the Semiconductor Equipment industry.
- Familiarity with wet chemical and electroplating processing equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and management experience.
- Expertise in electrochemical process engineering and wet chemical processing.
- Electroplating experience preferred.
- Understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance.
- Simulation using multi-physics analysis such as Comsol and Ansys.
