About the Role

The Groundskeeping Technician is responsible for maintaining residential grounds, garbage and recycling rooms, and building entrances in exceptional condition, working safely in all seasons. The role also includes light maintenance duties such as changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles. A proactive, team-oriented approach is required to ensure high customer and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Perform turf maintenance including mowing, trimming, mulching, raking, and repairs.
Report dead or broken tree branches to management for tenant and customer safety.
Assist with garden maintenance to ensure a clean and neat aesthetic.
Monitor foliage, noting any items requiring additional attention.
Power blow hard surfaces, including parking decks and garages, to remove debris.
Power wash hard surfaces, parking decks, garages, garbage/recycling rooms, and building entrances.
Clean up and remove leaves during transitional seasons and perform other fall preparation tasks.
Complete various small landscaping projects as directed.
Complete assigned work orders in common areas.
Ensure sandboxes are properly placed and filled during transitional seasons and removed/stored in Spring.
Clear assigned sidewalks and pathways of snow and winter debris.
Apply ice control products such as sand and/or salt.
Deliver ice control products to various buildings.
Maintain winter logs including delivery, inventory, and work completion.
Collect litter, bulk trash, and cardboard for disposal.
Operate vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies safely and responsibly.
Immediately report emergency and/or hazardous situations.
Maintain cleanliness and order of storage facilities, ensuring safety and clear egress.
Maintain order and cleanliness of HVAC in applicable buildings (excluding system maintenance unless certified).
Continuously seek ways to improve the Customer & Tenant Experience.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Possess a clean driver's abstract.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.
Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both in a team and independently.
Able to climb stairs and ladders.
Able to lift at least 50 lbs frequently/regularly.
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have a reliable vehicle.
