About the Role

Man Systematic is expanding its Systematic Portfolio Analytics team to cover both AHL and Numeric, offering an opportunity to shape the future of portfolio analytics across one of the world's largest systematic investment platforms. This is a chance to join a battle-tested team at an exciting inflection point, contributing to a proven playbook with a step-change in scope.

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively adopt AI and cutting-edge tooling to multiply individual and team output.
  • Work with and interpret vast amounts of data from both AHL and Numeric.
  • Develop analytics, KPIs, and metrics to transform raw data into actionable intelligence.
  • Conduct research to uncover non-obvious insights about strategies, signals, and portfolios.
  • Write code, build reporting mechanisms, and create tools for PMs and researchers.
  • Rapidly build a deep understanding of the systematic estate to generate cross-functional insights and synergies between AHL and Numeric.
  • Partner closely with PMs, researchers, technologists, and traders globally.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with the ability to translate them into pragmatic, real-world solutions.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and risk management techniques.
  • Expertise in a high-level programming language (ideally Python) and its scientific stack (NumPy/SciPy/Pandas or similar).
  • Familiarity with modern AI tooling (LLMs, agentic workflows, Claude Code/Codex CLI).
  • Exposure in key areas on the sell-side, e.g., Trading, Risk, QIS, Financial Engineering, Strats/Quants, Portfolio Management, Electronic/Systematic Trading.
  • Experience analyzing or managing complex risk.
  • Proficiency with Linux, SQL/Oracle, KDB+.
  • Strong academic record from a leading university with a degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physics, or Statistics).
  • Keen interest in financial markets.
  • Hands-on attitude and willingness to engage with technology and projects across the firm.
  • Intellectually robust with a positive attitude towards ambiguity and complex problems.
  • Self-organized with effective time management skills across multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with quantitative researchers, technologists, traders, and senior business personnel.
  • Confident communicator, able to articulate points concisely and handle conflicting views constructively.
  • Strong sense of integrity.
