About the Role
H.O. Penn Machinery is seeking a Power Systems Product Support Sales Manager to lead sales and service programs for engine parts and services, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to develop and control sales and service programs to produce targeted engine parts and service sales volume and margins.
- Provide a high level of customer satisfaction in alignment with corporate values.
- Ensure adequate sales coverage.
- Take appropriate actions for significant growth opportunities by planning and controlling marketing strategies, tactics, and sales techniques for promoting sales of CSAs and product support.
- Review quotation worksheets, contracts, and purchase orders prior to acceptance.
- Maintain working knowledge of Caterpillar Merchandising Programs.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with Caterpillar Sales and Support Groups.
- Review receivables with the sales force and support collection efforts in conjunction with the Credit Department.
- Work effectively with Parts and Service Management to determine pricing of work, control costs, and communicate work schedules.
- Collaborate with Service Supervisors in developing and implementing marketing plans for promoting sales of CSAs and product support.
- Work effectively with the sales force to provide CSAs, life cycle pricing, and customized product support offerings for new opportunities.
- Work effectively with Project Management to ensure product support coverage exists for all new installations, including customer training.
- Achieve a culture of high productivity and morale by fostering engagement, collaboration, and safety.
- Build a high-performing team by developing members to consistently achieve job expectations through coaching, continuous feedback, and accountability.
- Take accountability for talent development by regularly reviewing and discussing employee development activities, such as onboarding, training, and career development initiatives.
- Be an active part in the continuous improvement of H.O. Penn’s safety culture.
- Ensure timely completion of any required safety training for self and direct/indirect reports.
- Adhere to all Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies.
- Understand job risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate those risks, such as wearing all required personal protective equipment.
- Continually assess the appearance, including cleanliness, professionalism, maintenance, and compliance with company policies, of the area of responsibility.
- Take corrective action on any items noted during assessments to ensure compliance with company appearance standards.
- Implement any approved company recommendations for creating a professional appearance and ensuring the accessibility of facilities.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of sales management experience, with demonstrated success in developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Industry experience in power generation, energy, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, construction, marine, data center, utility, oil & gas, mining, or related sectors highly preferred.
- Proven ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to drive growth strategies.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, and customer engagement skills with a focus on long-term partnerships.
- Solid financial acumen, including experience with pricing strategies, margins, and profitability analysis.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required with ability to travel locally up to 50%.
- Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Hand coordination for typing, writing, and computer use.
- Occasional forward bending and reaching.
- Occasional walking and climbing stairs.
- Carrying (up to 20lbs.).
