About the Role
In this role, you will take on leading responsibility for project-related controlling and commercial management of complex construction projects. You will set standards, create transparency for management decisions, and provide direction for processes, tools, and project teams. The focus is clearly on content leadership, decision-making readiness, and operational proximity – with a firm base in Berlin and regular presence on construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Strategic planning and forecast coordination: Overall responsibility for the creation, quality assurance, and consolidation of planning documents, budgets, and forecasts across multiple projects.
- Project controlling with lead responsibility: Management of project key figures, including target-actual comparisons, opportunity and risk assessment, and active support of all project phases.
- Reporting and reporting: Responsibility for the setup, further development, and quality of management reports on performance, order backlog, and earnings development, as well as sound ad-hoc analyses.
- Interface and steering function: Close collaboration with project management, divisional management, executive management, and central controlling as a commercial sparring partner.
- Tool-supported analyses & system landscape: Further development of existing controlling and reporting systems, leading role in BI topics and process optimization.
- Commercial leadership in the bidding process: Responsibility for economic evaluations, approvals, calculation checks, and decision-making bases.
- Knowledge building & technical leadership: Conducting training, knowledge transfer on group-wide standards, and, prospectively, technical leadership or responsibility for a small team.
Requirements
- Completed degree in economics, civil engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable qualification.
- Several years of sound experience in project controlling, ideally in the construction or project business.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- High system and process competence with strong IT affinity (ERP systems, Excel, BI tools).
- Experience with calculation and controlling software (e.g., iTWO, SAP, BI tools).
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and a structured, self-reliant way of working.
- People leadership is a plus, as are strong communication skills, resilience, and confidence in handling multiple parallel projects.
