About the Role

In this role, you will independently manage the ongoing operations of the library and the digital learning platforms of the university and contribute to their further development. You will create the conditions for modern access to scientific resources, support innovative teaching and learning formats, and accompany the digital transformation of the university. You will work closely with faculties, IT, study organization, examination management, and other central departments.

Responsibilities

Organization and operation of library and e-learning
Independent organization of the ongoing operation of library and e-learning
Participation in the planning of acquisitions and resources in coordination with the supervisor
Ensuring the quality, availability, and continuous development of library and e-learning offerings
Participation in the further development of the university's digital learning infrastructure
Management of library and learning resources
Organization and administration of physical and digital library collections
Ensuring access to scientific literature, databases, and electronic resources
Further development of media and resource collections in close coordination with the faculties
Support of academic work through modern information and research services
E-learning and digital learning environment
Support and continuous development of learning management systems and digital learning platforms
Support in the integration of digital teaching and learning materials
Ensuring the functionality, user-friendliness, and further development of the systems used
Consulting and supporting faculties in the implementation of digital teaching and learning formats
Service and usage management
Organization and further development of library, learning space, and digital service offerings
Coordination of lending, returns, and access rights to digital resources
Ensuring efficient, service-oriented, and user-friendly processes
Advising students, lecturers, and employees on the use of the offerings
Interface and cooperation management
Close cooperation with faculties, IT, examination management, study organization, and other organizational units
Coordination in the provision and use of learning resources and digital systems
Ensuring smooth cross-departmental processes
Support for internal user groups on didactic and technical issues
Process and quality assurance
Analysis, standardization, and optimization of processes in coordination with the supervisor
Setup and maintenance of relevant documentation and reporting systems
Development, evaluation, and control of key figures
Regular reporting to the supervisor
Continuous evaluation and further development of library and e-learning offerings
Participation in the university's digitalization and innovation projects

Requirements

Completed vocational training as a specialist for media and information services (specialization library) or comparable vocational training, each with relevant professional experience in the library and e-learning sector, alternatively a successfully completed university degree or comparable qualification, ideally in the field of library science, information management, education management, media pedagogy, or a comparable field.
Professional experience in the library sector, e-learning, or the university/educational sector
Experience in handling library systems, digital learning platforms, and scientific information systems
Strong understanding of digital teaching and learning processes
High digital competence and interest in innovations in the education sector
Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented way of working
High service, user, and quality orientation
Strong communication skills and enjoyment of collaboration with various stakeholders
Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
