About the Role
Taktile is seeking a Head of Legal to lead and scale the company's legal function. This role offers the opportunity to build upon an existing foundation, shape the future of the legal team, and act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team. You will have influence on major company decisions while also handling day-to-day legal tasks.
Responsibilities
- Design the function's next chapter, building on existing templates and processes.
- Build and lead the legal team as the company grows.
- Own commercial contracting, including customer and vendor agreements.
- Help define how AI decisioning gets regulated, working with compliance and outside counsel.
- Support a growing global team across multiple international entities.
- Advise leadership on risk and strategy, acting as a business partner.
- Set the company's data privacy posture.
- Answer day-to-day legal questions from various departments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience, including meaningful time in-house.
- Experience building or significantly scaling a legal function and team.
- Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of, or excitement to build expertise in, financial services regulatory considerations for AI-driven decisioning.
- Experience supporting employment matters across multiple jurisdictions or entities.
- JD and active bar membership in at least one US state.
- Entrepreneurial, high-ownership mindset.
- Sound judgment regarding when to solve issues internally versus engaging outside counsel.
- Confidence managing outside counsel relationships.
