About the Role
Lead the transformation of Kensington and Chelsea’s public safety CCTV network, harnessing modern technology, upgrading critical infrastructure, and ensuring public spaces remain safe and secure.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic transformation of the CCTV service.
- Ensure network infrastructure, fibre systems, and technology are modern, cost-effective, and fit for the future.
- Oversee all operational workstreams.
- Manage public realm budgets.
- Maintain effective partnership arrangements with the CCTV Control Room Service.
- Review and upgrade camera assets across the borough.
- Coordinate Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy investments.
- Monitor service providers to guarantee contractual standards are met.
- Work closely with residents, elected members, police partners, and internal teams to deliver community safety priorities.
- Chair resident-led advisory groups.
- Provide expert technical guidance to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Professional knowledge of CCTV management standards equivalent to BTEC Level 4 in Managing CCTV Control Rooms.
- Extensive technical and operational experience with public space systems.
- In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act, UK GDPR, and RIPA.
- Clear vision for how emerging technologies can enhance public safety.
- Experienced in risk management, contract negotiation, and budget oversight.
- Ability to manage complex projects and move at pace.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to negotiate effectively.
- Ability to solve complex operational challenges.
- Ability to build positive, trusted relationships with partners and councillors.
