About the Role
Join the prestigious Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC) as a Marine Services Labourer, supporting the team with general labour, equipment handling, vessel movement, dock maintenance, and marine operations. This seasonal, outdoor position is ideal for someone safety-conscious who enjoys working with boats in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general labour duties throughout the marine yard, docks, and storage areas.
- Support vessel relocation, launch, haul-out, and seasonal storage operations.
- Assist with the setup, removal, and maintenance of docks and other waterfront equipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, including the marine yard and storage facility.
- Inspect tools and equipment and report any damage, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
- Assist the Marine Services team with basic maintenance.
- Follow proper lifting, material-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with Members, guests, and teammates.
- Follow all RCYC safety policies and operational procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with material handling, loading, unloading, or equipment organization.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift more than 50 lbs.
- Be comfortable working around boats and water.
- Strong communication skills and attention to safety.
- Willingness to learn new marine operations and technical skills.
- Frequent walking, lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in marine yard and waterfront environment.
- Must be able to swim.
