About the Role

Join the Systems Planning and Architecture (SPARC) team within Microsoft’s Azure Hardware Systems and Infrastructure (AHSI) organization to innovate the latest hardware designs, support Azure Compute initiatives, and drive planning and prioritization for Platform Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Support the development and execution of Azure Compute initiatives by driving planning, prioritization, and cross-functional coordination of the Platform Infrastructure.
Focus on resolving supply-related challenges, ensuring long-term capacity readiness for cloud services, and delivering efficiency improvements.
Engage with Microsoft cloud business units to define future hardware platform and system requirements and align recommendations for executive approval.
Define and own platform roadmap and strategy that spans concept, POR, qualification, launch, and scale.
Drive cross-org alignment through interlocks with members from various business units including software and hardware engineering and architecture, networking, datacenter infrastructure, finance, and supply chain management to build data-driven strategic frameworks for decision making.
Identify and mitigate platform, schedule, and dependency risks early; drive trade-off decisions with clarity and data.
Define success metrics and track execution against committed milestones.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Skills

Datacenter compute, storage or networking architecture
Product Planning, Product Management or Strategic Planning experience in Data Center, Cloud Infrastructure or Computer Architecture domain
Server architecture with relevant technologies such as microprocessors, accelerators, memory, storage or networking technologies
Key technologies/ingredients such as Microprocessors, Memory, Storage, Networking, offload engines and/or accelerators
Data Center HW Infrastructure
Map workload requirements to the right infrastructure solutions
Understand how compute-centric workloads are transforming due to AI (training/inferencing)
Balance between technology, business, and strategy to inform roadmap decisions.
Drive alignment across stakeholders and influence cross-functional leadership to converge on decisions/recommendations that lead to tangible impact and transformation.
Executive communication skills – ability to present and lead discussions with leadership team and abstract details to communicate with clarity and relevance.
Customer obsession in prior roles where customer requirements were gathered and implemented into a product.
Familiarity and previous experience developing programs through phase gate processes.
