About the Role
As an application-oriented research institute, we collaborate with companies to advance the industrial state of the art. Our daily work includes the conception of innovative robot-based solutions up to their prototypical implementation in our laboratory or directly with project partners. We are looking for a new colleague with a focus on robotic handling technology, with the possibility of a doctorate.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in research projects on innovative topics in robotics, for example, to improve robotic harvesting and handling in the agricultural sector.
- Identify real industrial needs, utilize market-available technologies, and further develop them to the practical state of the art.
- Programming, integration, development of prototypes, and experiments.
- Supervise doctoral candidates with colloquia within the team and in regular development discussions.
- Actively participate in initiating new research projects with freedom in their design.
- Contribute to publications and travel to partners and conferences.
- Develop an individual development plan with suitable training to specifically shape a leadership or specialist profile.
- Coordinate development topics and tasks with students and supervise theses.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics).
- Strong interest in robotics and automation.
- Experience with programming and integration of robotic systems is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good communication skills in German and English.
