About the Role
The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for the software of every satellite and satellite subsystem made by BST. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded systems, and integrating them into satellites. The engineer will impact the entire development cycle of a complete satellite.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of new drivers and firmware for ARM based embedded systems
- Adapt, improve, and extend existing software for satellite subsystems and ground testing devices
- Design and implement automated test software to verify system functionality
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to solve complex problems and create robust products
- Write documentation and reports
- Embrace and adapt to new technical challenges
Requirements
- Degree in software or other engineering field (or equivalent qualifications)
- 3+ years of experience in embedded software development
- Strong knowledge of C and ARM based microcontrollers, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.
- Experience with hardware abstraction layers
- Strong understanding of modular designs
- Familiarity with schematics and datasheets of electronic boards and devices
- Fluent English – written and spoken
- Enthusiasm for space and new technologies
- Ability to work in a dynamic international team
