About the Role
In this role, you will support our communications team in further sharpening and expanding the association's public profile. The position is initially limited to two years, but a long-term collaboration is sought.
Responsibilities
- Actively maintain and expand your network in the press world.
- Stay up-to-date on developments with your strong interest in political work in animal welfare.
- Plan and accompany shoots for journalists and external media partners.
- Plan and create social media content for platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, tailoring it for the target audience.
- Write online articles for our website, considering SEO knowledge, and compose our newsletter.
- Effortlessly write press releases, texts for mailings, flyers, brochures, and various articles for our "Tierfreund" publication.
Requirements
- Successfully completed a degree or comparable training.
- Several years of relevant professional experience in journalism, media, public relations, or communications.
- Enthusiasm for animal welfare as a friendly, open-minded team member.
- Strong editorial skills – write stylistically confident and error-free in German, even under time pressure.
- Effortlessly create editorial contributions thanks to your linguistic flair and textual confidence.
- Convince with strong communication skills and enjoy expressing yourself creatively with words and images.

- The Tierschutzverein für Berlin und Umgebung Corp. e.V. is one of the most experienced and largest animal welfare organizations in Germany, dedicated to the protection and welfare of animals since its founding in 1841.
- The Tierschutzverein für Berlin is the sole shareholder of Tierheim Berlin gGmbH and finances its work exclusively through donations, bequests, and membership fees.
- Tierheim Berlin cares for over 1,300 animals daily.
