About the Role
Hitachi Rail is seeking a Services Engineer to provide technical support for CCS and COM systems within the MTS service environment, ensuring system availability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform remote monitoring, investigation, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
- Undertake site visits for fault rectification, maintenance, testing, commissioning, or operational incidents.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities including inspections, health checks, diagnostics, and reliability improvements.
- Conduct corrective maintenance including fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service restoration within SLAs.
- Support system upgrades, equipment replacement, configuration changes, and software updates.
- Provide technical support for testing, integration, commissioning, migration, and operational readiness.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, and support reports.
- Participate in on-call support, shift work, and out-of-hours works as required.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to ensure service delivery and performance objectives.
Requirements
- Broad understanding of railway Communications (COM) and Control Command Systems (CCS).
- Strong working knowledge of SCADA and integrated operational railway systems.
- Experience supporting operational rail, transport, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Experience with fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical investigations.
- Knowledge of incident management, SLA-based service delivery, maintenance, and asset management practices.
- Experience supporting upgrades, modifications, equipment replacement, and engineering changes.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and transition-to-service activities.
- Experience managing customer tickets, internal support tickets, PCRs, defects, and technical change processes.
- Experience coordinating with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and participate in an on-call support roster.
