About the Role

Assist the Indirect Tax compliance team in managing client indirect tax reporting to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Provide accurate and timely support for standardized and compliance-based services. Develop client relationships, collaborate with KPMG service teams and offshore partners, and act as a liaison with the ATO on behalf of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to complex client engagement activities within a dynamic team.
  • Deliver high-quality, technically accurate outputs promptly.
  • Prepare, review, and lodge activity statements for clients.
  • Utilize KPMG tools and technology for value-added services.
  • Support continuous improvement in compliance, accounting procedures, and standard processing.
  • Understand client onboarding and risk procedures and contribute as appropriate.
  • Develop technical skills to increase capability and diversity.
  • Draft client advice for review, applying problem-solving and analytical skills to deliver actionable insights.
  • Identify emerging trends and best practices by monitoring economic, legislative, management, and social forces.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of GST legislation and strong understanding of reporting requirements.
  • Experience in compliance and GST consulting is desirable.
  • Ability to navigate various systems and understand relevant processes and controls for activity statement preparation.
  • Experience in the tax, accounting, or law fields.
  • Willingness to share information and collaborate to streamline processes and create efficiencies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality, accurate outputs efficiently.
  • Ability to identify issues, find solutions, communicate with team members, and meet KPIs.
