About the Role

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to zero harm behaviors and a world-class safety culture.
- Produce high-quality sand moulds and cores, meeting daily production targets efficiently and safely.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts (if licensed), sand mixers, process equipment, portable tools, and hand tools.
- Participate in safety initiatives, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and pre-start inspections.
- Adhere strictly to all WMA policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support and mentor apprentices or machine moulders.
- Conduct stock takes of indirect materials and reorder supplies.
- Ensure work areas and equipment are maintained in good order.
- Achieve production targets, adhere to safety standards, maintain quality output, and demonstrate effective teamwork.
Requirements
- At least 12 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with chemical set sand moulding, cold box moulding, or greensand moulding is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Strong practical skills with hand tools and equipment operation.
- Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts (tickets desirable).
- Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Dependable and proactive work ethic.
- High Risk Work Licence (Class F NSW) and Dogging Certificate are desirable.
- Prior experience in stock management and calibration of sand mixers is desirable.
- Familiarity with risk assessments and safety compliance procedures is desirable.
