About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our New South Wales Buildings Team in Sydney. You will be part of a growing team delivering impactful projects across various sectors and benefit from a collaborative culture, flexible work arrangements, and a supportive environment focused on your growth with access to tailored training and development programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support Senior and Project Engineers in the technical delivery of building projects, ensuring smooth day-to-day progress.
- Develop analytical models and prepare well-documented, self-reviewed structural calculation packages across various project phases.
- Oversee and review evolving documentation for technical accuracy, while keeping Project Engineers informed of design progress.
- Liaise with internal design teams, external architects, and clients to resolve technical queries and ensure coordinated outcomes.
- Contribute to project proposals, change orders, and support scope, budget, and scheduling discussions as needed.
- Deliver work aligned with professional standards, Stantec’s quality procedures, and contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
- 4-8 years previous experience working in an engineering consultancy environment on buildings projects.
- Projects within the Education, Health and Defence sectors would be advantageous.
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Problem solving mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Structural software knowledge of SpaceGass, RAM, ETABS or similar design programs
- Knowledge of building stability analysis and corresponding detailing
- Knowledge and capability across post tensioned and reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber design fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
