About the Role
COS is seeking freelance fashion designers who are passionate about modernity, functional elegance, and innovative craftsmanship. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to concept development, design exploration, product refinement, and infuse collections with a unique vision. We are particularly interested in senior creatives with womenswear expertise, but welcome applications from designers at all career stages for future freelance positions.

Requirements
- Strong aesthetic aligned with COS design philosophy (Modern, brand relevant, effortless design)
- Silhouette driven designs and innovative construction
- Depth of understanding for fabric, technique, and thoughtful detail
- Proven design experience within womenswear, menswear, or accessories
- Experience in contemporary, premium, or luxury fashion markets
- Strong ability to interpret brand DNA into commercially relevant design
- Excellent portfolio showcasing concept development, research, technical sketches, garment details, final product outcomes, and exploration of materials/textures/sustainability
- Strong technical and creative capabilities
- Confident hand and digital sketching
- Understanding of pattern cutting and garment construction
- Ability to work with 3D design tools
- Collaborative approach and professional communication
- Ability to work to briefs, timelines, and feedback
- Experience working with product development teams or manufacturers
- Strong organization and self-management
- Regular commuting to London is essential
