About the Role
Arbor Neuroscience is expanding its human neuroscience program, focusing on longitudinal, causal studies involving functional ultrasound imaging and focused ultrasound neuromodulation. This role is responsible for designing and running human experiments, from initial setup and data collection to analysis and interpretation, with the ultimate goal of making neuromodulation predictable and improving treatments for brain disorders.
Responsibilities
- Design longitudinal, causal, within-subject human studies: imaging first, then neuromodulation
- Run experiments or oversee them as the program grows
- Own and maintain experimental rigs, specifying needs and working with engineers on usability
- Collaborate with research partners, including travel to clinical sites
- Support participant recruitment
- Analyze and interpret data
- Write up results, publish, and present at scientific meetings
- Help shape the human neuroscience program
Requirements
- PhD and experience running human neuroscience research
- Experience running human studies end to end, including recruitment, data collection, and analysis
- Comfort with hardware and software, including troubleshooting experimental rigs
- Sufficient computational skills for standard data analyses and to advise on innovative ones
- Direct communication style, willingness to ask questions, and collaborative spirit
- Deep interest in seeing work reach patients
