About the Role
The Investment Analyst plays a key role in evaluating and supporting the performance of existing assets and prospective investment opportunities. The position is responsible for providing financial analysis, valuation, underwriting, market research, and due diligence support for acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, redevelopment initiatives, and strategic capital decisions.
Responsibilities
- Constructing, updating and assessing financial models to analyze properties considered for acquisition and disposition.
- Providing analysis on the existing portfolio as part of the ongoing dispositions program.
- Preparing, researching and summarizing market analysis and trends for various projects, markets and assets under review.
- Reviewing, summarizing and incorporating third-party findings in analyses.
- Verifying all details about potential investments by completing necessary due diligence activities.
- Supporting the group during the preparation of presentations and approval packages for management and investment committee approvals.
- Supporting the Transactions team during the closing of acquisition and disposition transactions.
Requirements
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in commercial real estate.
- Post-secondary education in commerce, finance, accounting, urban development, economics or real estate.
- Passion for real estate.
- Due diligence and analytical skills.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal guidance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to deal with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
