About the Role
Kettle & Fire is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Commercial Finance to partner with commercial growth teams. This role requires an exceptional business partner who can operate with minimal oversight, build pricing and trade discipline, and contribute to the company's goal of becoming the leading broth brand by owning the commercial P&L narrative and building margin visibility, pricing architecture, and trade spend discipline for profitable growth. The position reports to the VP of Finance, has one direct report, and is a full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the finance partner for Sales, Marketing, and Innovation.
- Build pricing and trade discipline for a fast-growing business.
- Own the commercial P&L narrative.
- Build margin visibility, pricing architecture, and trade spend discipline.
- Collaborate across departments to align commercial strategy with sales, marketing, innovation, and supply chain teams.
- Ensure decisions are grounded in real economics.
- Maximize the return on every dollar of trade investment.
- Manage or develop a direct report.
Requirements
- Experience as the go-to finance partner for Sales and Marketing.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial finance, FP&A, revenue management, or sales/trade finance, ideally in CPG or food & beverage.
- Ownership of a commercial or top-line forecast (AOP, rolling forecast, or customer-level volume and net revenue planning).
- Direct experience with trade spend, pricing/revenue growth management, and customer or channel profitability.
- A track record of building pricing architecture, promo ROI frameworks, or customer profitability models.
- Comfort presenting financial trade-offs directly to senior leadership.
