About the Role
Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a dynamic and skilled Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM). This field-based role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to eliminate access barriers, educate on prior authorization processes, and address roadblocks for eligible patients while enhancing conversion rates and treatment adherence. The FRM will have territory-level responsibilities and exhibit business knowledge of the local landscape.
Responsibilities
- Educate customers and staff regarding payer policies and processes supporting patient access (i.e., eligibility and benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals/denials)
- Develop strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and delivering solutions to overcome obstacles
- Serve as an expert on Axsome Therapeutics patient support programs, payer utilization management, access issue resolution, and financial assistance
- Collaborate effectively with Managed Markets and Sales to address challenges and opportunities with patient access
- Assist in educating sales colleagues on product access and patient support programs
- Develop and maintain updated knowledge of the local and national payer landscape
- Engage with customers both virtually and in-person
- Communicate territory activity accurately and timely as directed by management
- Travel overnight as indicated by business needs
- Conduct and manage all reimbursement activities within legal and regulatory guidelines, requiring continuous monitoring of compliance
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Must live in the territory’s geography
- Ability to travel up to 50-75%, which may include overnight travel
Skills
- CNS experience
- Experience and expertise working with multiple cross-functional teams
- Pharmacy benefit knowledge, identifying and educating to payer criteria for prior authorization
- Knowledge and understanding of payer segments (e.g., Commercial, Medicare Part D)
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding results
- Ability to work independently, manage travel schedules, and schedule visits (territory management)
- Proficient in both virtual and live customer engagements

Experience Level
- Minimum of 8 years of healthcare, field customer, and/or account management experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Minimum of 2 years as an FRM or RAM working specifically with retail medications (preferably with neurology experience)

- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Graduate degree preferred
Salary/Compensations
- $130,000 - $170,000
