About the Role
Cleans and maintains company facilities to provide a safe and healthy workplace. This role involves daily cleaning of various areas, restocking supplies, and ensuring a well-maintained environment.
Responsibilities
- Works as part of a team to carry out cleaning tasks to ensure standards are maintained.
- Dusts furniture and performs floor mopping, finishing, and buffing.
- Vacuums and shampoos carpets.
- Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.
- Identifies appropriate cleaning materials and products to sanitize, disinfect, and deodorize areas according to company standards.
- Replenishes supplies in washrooms, such as hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Organizes cleaning items, disinfectants, and other materials kept in storage, as well as cleaning equipment.
- Uses proper signage to indicate wet flooring or other potentially hazardous situations.
- May oversee and/or assist with snow removal activities.
- Changes light bulbs as needed.
- Locks and unlocks assigned buildings, securing them when not in use by checking for unlocked doors and windows.
- Reports any unauthorized occupants and turns off lights.
- Follows instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
- Maintains accurate logs and records of areas cleaned and scheduled for regular cleaning.
- Fulfills work order requests in case of cleaning or plumbing emergencies.
- Reports any repairs noticed during cleaning duties to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Ensures assigned cleaning tasks are carried out in a timely fashion.
- Liaises with team members, supervisor, and organization leadership.
- Follows cleaning routines and schedules including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window washing, and mirror cleaning.
- Attends safety meetings and other related meetings.
- Assists with setup/breakdown of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
- Assists with inventory control and security.
Requirements
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Must obtain clearance from the Office of Children and Family Services.
- Must be drug free.
- Candidate will be responsible for floating to other site locations.
