About the Role
The Senior Lead Power Engineer develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications, researches system ideas, draws up plans, and captures them in schematics and specifications. They test, simulate, validate, and qualify systems, providing support throughout manufacturing. This role involves working in cross-functional teams to ensure robust product development and enhancing designs with feedback.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement technical solutions for complex projects.
- Participate in project planning and scheduling.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a global team of engineers.
- Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project.
- Review and interpret customer specifications and act as primary customer contact.
- Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.
- Develop deployment strategies and plans.
- Lead the deployment of strategic technologies/programs and coordinate global deployment efforts.
- Manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
- Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.
- Create Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, and drawings.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
- Solve complex problems.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and interpret data and information.
- Recommend modifications for systems.
- Create reports and documentation.
Requirements
- Considered a Subject Matter Expert in the area of power design.
- Deep knowledge of DC/DC power topologies and tradeoffs.
- Experienced in designing power systems for networking, compute, or storage products.
- Experienced in high current, high-phase count designs for ASICs and GPUs.
- Experienced in PCB stack-up, power planes, and tools used to simulate voltage gradients.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and CAD layout tools.
- Proficient with circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE and LTSPICE.
- Knowledge of high-density power modules and Vertical Power Delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present to various audiences effectively.
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
