About the Role
As a Trading Infrastructure engineer, you play a key role in the delivery of critical technology solutions that support Susquehanna's business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the software development life cycle, IT operational processes, and strong systems thinking. You will own the architecture and design of systems and tools for automating and optimizing operations, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, and troubleshoot issues across environments. Your work will focus on improving system resilience, providing technical leadership, unblocking strategic projects, and enhancing developer productivity.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines on different platforms and environments.
- Work closely with production engineers and developers in a tight-knit business-facing team.
- Automate processes to gain efficiency and quality.
- Administer and monitor different environments and systems health.
- Manage and configure cloud infrastructure services.
- Take an automation-first approach in responsible areas including trading systems, development lifecycles, and backup operations.
- Help troubleshoot issues during testing and provide production launch support.
- Provide support and troubleshooting on production systems, including diagnosing and resolving post-deployment issues, patching servers, implementing automated server hardening policies, and resolving downtime incidents.
Requirements
- Strong experience in infrastructure support, deployment, and monitoring.
- Strong technical skills in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell etc.).
- Experience in either Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Experience in messaging systems.
- Experience debugging network protocols such as TCP, multicast.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD orchestration tools.
- Exposure to deployment orchestration platforms (e.g., Octopus Deploy).
- Proficiency with enterprise version control platforms (e.g., GitLab).
- Understanding and practical application of security models (e.g., RBAC).
- B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Financial trade floor experience is a plus but not essential, training will be provided.
- Proven record of seeking continuous improvement and implementing best practice in technology environments.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and creative.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) – ability to convey technically complex subjects in a clear and concise manner.
- Attention to detail – thorough in work carried out.
