About the Role

The Systems Administrator supports service delivery to the organisation in the management of IT computer systems within the Hosting Platform team.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor and optimise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8+) environments
  • Plan, deploy and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure
  • Automate system configuration and patching using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite
  • Support application teams with system integration, scripting and troubleshooting
  • Maintain system security through patching, hardening and compliance adherence
  • Monitor system health using tools such as Splunk and SolarWinds
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation

Requirements

  • 3+ years Linux administration experience (preferably RHEL)
  • Strong knowledge of CIS Framework, SELinux, LVM, LDAP, SSSD
  • Proven troubleshooting ability across RHEL systems, including diagnosing complex issues in virtualised environments
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible
  • Proficiency in Bash and/or Python
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, firewalls, TLS/SSL)
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, Dynatrace
  • Kubernetes or OpenShift experience
  • Linux certification (RHCSA/RHCE)
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen
  • Must undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check and obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
